Where do we meet?

When do we meet?
On the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month at 7:30pm
Do I have to be a member to attend?
No, our meetings are free and open to the public, but you have to be a member to present a song.
What happens at our meetings?
Lots! Although our main focus of the meeting is on song critiques, there are also mini-workshops, networking, resource sharing, learning, sharing, and camaraderie.
Where can I park? Can I ride the bus?
There is street parking all around the Patterson, including a bank parking lot, and the #10 bus stops right outside the door as well as the #13
Who comes to the meetings?
Songwriters and those interested in songwriting, lyricists, melodist and musicians. All ages, all skill levels, all genres, all types of people are welcome. Attendance averages 15-20 people per meeting.
What are your song critiques like?
Very friendly, constructive and supportive. We say what we like about a song and what, if anything, we would change to make it better.
What else does the BSA do?
Lots! We host a monthly open mic(see next question), publish a Quarterly newsletter, produce and release compilation CDs of members, promote each others music, hold workshops on songwriting, performing and music business, network with each other, and other community activities.
What’s this about an open mic?
The open mic has been placed on hold as we look for a new location and open mic host.
You’re a 501(c)3 right?
Yes, we are a non-profit organization, currently run completely by volunteer Board Members and Officers.
We are always looking for good sponsors and underwriters and greatly appreciate donations which are tax-deductible.
How can I join?
Join online now using your PayPal account or a major credit card.
You may also request and complete our membership form, make a check out for $25 and send it to our PO Box or bring it to our next meeting. The membership period is January-December.
What are the benefits of membership?
There are many: song critiques, workshops, networking with other singer-songwriters, performance opportunities, participation in BSA-sponsored events, placement of your song on the BSA compilation CD and much more!
What if I don't live in Baltimore?
There are no geographic restrictions for membership. We have members who live throughout the region and some in more far flung areas of the country and like to be in touch with our community and support what the BSA is all about – support of original music.
